Who are the Friends?
The Friends of Phillipsburg Free Public Library (FPFPL) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization comprised of concerned residents of Warren County, NJ and the surrounding areas.
We support the Phillipsburg Free Public Library as the social and intellectual center of our community and its role in providing access to information, ideas and economic opportunities to the residents of Warren County.
What do the Friends Do?
The Friends contribute to the Library in many ways. On an ongoing basis we:
- Financially support educational and cultural enrichment programs at the Library
- Host the annual Book Sales at the Library
- Sponsor the Library’s Summer Reading programs
- Sponsor a variety of Programs throughout the year
- Promote the Library and its offerings to the general public
- Support the Library’s Community Outreach efforts
- Represent the Library at community events
Why does the Library need Friends?
Friends understand the value of the Library to its community and that the Library needs community support to survive. When times are tough, people turn to their libraries. Families bring their children for a cost-free outing. Teens use the computers for homework help. Seniors come for educational programs. Job seekers use the library’s career and resume information. With the new digital age, the Library is a cost free venue to use wi-fi, to be able to download books, magazines or music to a digital device. Friends extend the Library’s resource capacity to serve the public through advocacy, volunteering, program support and additional funding.
Join the Friends!
Help us keep books, movies, magazines as well as internet and wireless services at the Library FREE to the community. The money we raise allows the Library to purchase new books, magazine subscriptions, computer equipment, computer furniture and other items that are beyond its regular budget.
There are several levels of membership beginning at only $5.00 or $10.00 per year. You can sign up on our website or in person at the Library.
