Who are the Friends?
The Friends of the Phillipsburg Free Public Library (FPFPL) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of concerned residents of Phillipsburg, Alpha, Lopatcong, Pohatcong, Greenwich Township and the surrounding areas. The Friends are dedicated to supporting The Phillipsburg Free Public Library, in whatever way we can.
We are a group of residents of the Phillipsburg area dedicated to being advocates and supporters of our Library. We assist in whatever way we can in expanding our Library’s offerings to children and adults. We do this by publicizing the Library’s programs and raising funds for the Library’s special needs.
The money we raise will allow the Library to purchase new books, magazine subscriptions, computer equipment, computer furniture and other items that are beyond its regular budget.
The Friends sponsor a number of activities, including an annual book sale, and Summer Reading Programs. Click here to see what we did in 2011 Friends of PFPL in 2011
What do the Friends Do?

- Sponsor the annual, two-day Spring Used Book Sale at the Library

- Create and staff the annual children’s “Library Hunt”
