Coming to America: The Great Waves: The history of immigration to America from the first Colonial wave through the second mid-1800s wave of frontier expansion, culminating with the third Great Wave that passed through Ellis Island Immigration Station in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Based on reader comments and staff discussions, we’ve drafted this list of reasons why libraries matter in a digital age. We welcome your additions to this list. Libraries serve the disenfranchised. Changes to FPFPL website

FPFPL.org recently changed its domain registrar and web host, after The Friends of the Phillipsburg Free Public Library took ownership of the domain. As a result of the web host change we experienced problems with our databases. All efforts to recover the databases were fruitless. So we find ourselves at square one. Free Summer Reading Program

The Phillipsburg Free Public Library is rolling out its popular summer reading program with free events and prizes for all ages. Beginning in June, visit the library to pick up a schedule of summer events and sign up for the programs highlighted below, or visit www.pburglib.org for more information. “One World, Many Stories” is for children, Preschool – Grade 5. Children and their parents are invited to  “Amazing Events”  by Linda Holliday at 10 am on July 19th. “You are Here” is for teens, Grades 6- 12.
