Our Library needs Friends

It serves a crucial purpose within the community that provides access to information that allows people of all ages to be able to: read books, use the computers, listen to stories, enjoy programs, attend events and much more. The Library has also embraced the electronic age by having an online presence that enables you to download books, magazines, take educational courses and so much more. The biggest advantage to the community is that it is all free. As Friends, we believe in the importance of the Library as the social and intellectual HUB of our community and we support its mission and policies. We serve as the ‘connecting link’ between the Library and the community … Read entire article »

A very special thank you to library staff and the many volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the year, processing and organizing the donations, stocking the tables at the sale, collecting money, helping buyers carry books to their cars and cleaning up after the sale. Meet a Friend – Dana Syers

If you like reading books, holding books, turning the pages of books, being surrounded by books, come on down to the Friends of PFPL’s book sale in April.   Hi, my name is Dana Syers, and I am the Book Sale Committee chairperson.  I joined the Friends of the Library in 2010 and served as Secretary from 2011 – 2012.  I have been coordinating the Friends Book Sale volunteers since 2011.  I am always excited to share my love of reading and books with others.  I prefer the feel of an actual book in my hands to that of an eReader.  Some of my favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club), Mary Higgins Clark, Sue Grafton, and VC Andrews to name a few.  Looking for old favorites or that book you heard so much about?  … Read entire article »
