July 18th Sensory Friendly Movie at Phillipsburg Library

Friends of PFPL, in partnership with Family Support Organization, proudly presents a “Sensory Friendly Movie” on Tuesday, Jul 18 at 6:00PM. Sensory Friendly Movies are special opportunities for families living with autism and others to enjoy movies in a safe and accepting environment. The lights will be left on and the sound turned slightly down in order to provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals on the autism spectrum. Families are encouraged to bring their own gluten-free, casein-free snacks from home as well as blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and other soft, quiet toys. Audience members are welcome to get up and dance, walk, shout or even sing! – quiet policy will not be enforced unless the safety of the audience is in question. Our Library needs Friends

Our Library needs Friends now, more than ever Our Library is a vital part of our community. It serves a crucial purpose within the community that provides access to information that allows people of all ages to be able to: read books, use the computers, listen to stories, enjoy programs, attend events and much more. The Library has also embraced the electronic age by having an online presence that enables you to download books, magazines, take educational courses and so much more. The biggest advantage to the community is that it is all free. As Friends, we believe in the importance of the Library as the social and intellectual HUB of our community and we support its mission and policies. We serve as the ‘connecting link’ between the Library and the community … Read entire article »
