July 18th Sensory Friendly Movie at Phillipsburg Library

Friends of PFPL, in partnership with Family Support Organization, proudly presents a “Sensory Friendly Movie” on Tuesday, Jul 18 at 6:00PM. Sensory Friendly Movies are special opportunities for families living with autism and others to enjoy movies in a safe and accepting environment. The lights will be left on and the sound turned slightly down in order to provide a more accepting and comfortable setting for individuals on the autism spectrum. Families are encouraged to bring their own gluten-free, casein-free snacks from home as well as blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and other soft, quiet toys. Audience members are welcome to get up and dance, walk, shout or even sing! – quiet policy will not be enforced unless the safety of the audience is in question. Coming to America: The Great Waves: The history of immigration to America from the first Colonial wave through the second mid-1800s wave of frontier expansion, culminating with the third Great Wave that passed through Ellis Island Immigration Station in the late 19th and 20th centuries.
