Fundraising

While libraries receive state and federal funding, many need to subsidize funds to maintain books, shelves and desks. It is wonderful when a library can offer more than the basics by increasing their inventory of books, periodicals and video items, but extras are costly.

Friends of the Library groups can make a difference, especially with infants and toddlers. Studies show conclusively that children who experience a book-rich environment prior to pre-school and kindergarten have a significantly greater chance of success in school and in life.

Friends of PFPL is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization of volunteers and advocates who support our Library’s mission to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge and strengthen our community.

The annual Spring Book Sale in April is our biggest fundraiser.  All proceeds from the book sale support educational and cultural enrichment programs at the library.  Book donations are accepted at the library throughout the year, except during the Book Sale.  Come and browse through books, movies, CD’s and much more.  Bring a friend or two!

Book sales are not the only way we raise funds. Find out how you can make a difference, contact us at info@fpfpl.org or come to one of our monthly meetings held every 2nd Thursday of the month @ 7:00PM in the library.
