Studies show conclusively that children who experience a book-rich environment have a significantly greater chance of success in school and in life.
Phillipsburg Free Public Library offers a wide variety of materials and programs that promote and support literacy in our community.
Public libraries receive state and federal funding, but many need to subsidize funds to maintain books, shelves and desks. It is wonderful when libraries can offer more than the basics by increasing their inventory of books, periodicals and video items, but extras are costly.
Friends of PFPL supports our Library and its programs by raising much needed funds for these resources.
The annual Spring Book Sale in April is our biggest fundraiser. All proceeds from the book sale support educational and cultural enrichment programs at our library and the National Center for Families Learning, through our literacy partner, Better World Books. Book donations are accepted at the Library throughout the year, except during the Book Sale. Come and browse through books, movies, CD’s and much more. Bring a friend or two!
If you would like to support the Library and meet some interesting new people, how about volunteering to help at the Spring Book Sale? If you’d like to volunteer, contact Dana Syers at info@FPFPL.org or leave a message at the Library (908) 454-3712
This 100% volunteer, community-wide effort involves sorting books of all sizes and categories in the weeks before the sale; and set-up, organization, cashiering and straightening-up on the days of the sale.
Book sales are not the only way we raise funds. We understand how busy you are and how difficult it can be to set aside time to help the Library. However, we found an easy way to help the Library by doing something that most of us do every day! Every time you search the internet or make an online purchase we can earn a donation. It’s really that simple!
Search the web with GoodSearch and select the Friends of PFPL or Phillipsburg Free Public Library as the cause you wish to support. Proceeds help us purchase items from the Library’s Wish List.
Friends of PFPL is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization of volunteers and advocates who support our Library’s mission to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge and strengthen our community.
