Pop Up Cards are Fun to Make!

Thank you Maryann for sharing your skills and donating materials last night!   Did you know?  The Mayo Clinic recommends reading, playing games or crafting as fun ways to exercise your brain and stay healthy.  Check out the Library’s many programs and activities for teens and adults.  Our class learned basic paper engineering techniques and made adorable Valentine’s greeting cards and simple fudge boxes! New Computers at PFPL

The Friends of PFPL purchased two new computers for the Library with funds raised from our book sales and the generous donations from our Friends.  Lopatcong 3rd grader, Mia and her mom, Naomi, demonstrated one of the new computers for us, “I use the library computers to check my homework on the school’s website,” said Mia, “My favorite subject is math.”  We give Mia an A+! Books and Volunteers Needed for 2014 Spring Book Sale

Book donations for the Friends of the Library’s annual Spring Book Sale are needed.  New or gently used books, DVDs, CDs, videotapes and audiobooks are greatly appreciated.  Some of your donations end up on the Library’s shelves, most are sold at the Friends of the Library book sales.   All proceeds from the book sale support educational and cultural enrichment programs at our library and the National Center for Families Learning,  through our literacy partner, Better World Books.  Your support is always valued, and in these hard times your support means even more.  The Library cannot accept encyclopedias, outdated reference books, or books in poor condition. Friends of PFPL is pleased to sponsor an annual subscription of the print edition of BookPage, a monthly book publication that reviews new book releases for readers of all types, whether you’re interested in literary fiction or romance, history or science fiction, cookbooks or children’s books.   Out of town for the winter?  Subscribe to the library’s free e-newsletter service, LibraryAware, to get great reading suggestions via email. You can search the Library’s online catalog from a remote location or from a computer in the Library.  You can place a request for a title and ask that the title be held for you to pick up.
