Meet a Friend – Dana Syers

If you like reading books, holding books, turning the pages of books, being surrounded by books, come on down to the Friends of PFPL’s book sale in April.   Hi, my name is Dana Syers, and I am the Book Sale Committee chairperson.  I joined the Friends of the Library in 2010 and served as Secretary from 2011 – 2012.  I have been coordinating the Friends Book Sale volunteers since 2011.  I am always excited to share my love of reading and books with others.  I prefer the feel of an actual book in my hands to that of an eReader.  Some of my favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club), Mary Higgins Clark, Sue Grafton, and VC Andrews to name a few.  Looking for old favorites or that book you heard so much about?  … Read entire article »

Graphic Novels Available at Phillipsburg Library

Looking for manga or comic books?  Phillipsburg Free Public Library now offers graphic novels for adults and teens, such as Naruto, Watchmen, Walking Dead and others. Check out the Library’s catalog for the growing collection.  If the title you are looking for is not on the shelves, library staff will be happy to request an interlibrary loan for you.  The Library will search all available sources and try to locate your title.  If available, most titles will be ready for pick up within a week or two. A graphic novel is a book that uses imagery and text (though text is not required) to convey a story.
