Just for Kids at the Phillipsburg Library

Libraries are one of the best places for children to get acquainted with the world of books, knowledge and information literacy. The Children’s department at Phillipsburg Free Public Library offers several free programs and activities such as story times with brightly colored picture books, songs, games, art and craft, that help to stimulate a child’s language skills.  Computers are available for children to do homework or play educational games on the Early Literacy Stations.  Each Early Literacy Station features more than 60 educational software titles spanning seven curricular areas and is a dynamic all-in-one digital learning solution for children ages 2-8.  These fun and engaging games will help children build early learning skills in math, reading and science.  Young children can follow their own interests and learn at their own pace.  Bring your children in to the Library and get them started … Read entire article »

Summer Reading Fun! Read for a Chance to Win Prizes at Phillipsburg Library

Summer has just gotten a whole lot more fun, thanks to Phillipsburg Free Public Library’s Summer Reading Programs*.  Read books for a chance to win prizes!   Children’s Summer Reading Teens/Young Adults Program Adult Summer Reading Every summer reader is a winner!  According to a three-year study at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, children who do not read in the summer lose two to three months of reading development. The study also showed that students who read during the summer showed a significantly higher level of reading achievement.
