Friends of PFPL Announces New Board Member

Gayle J RogersThe Friends of PFPL elected its newest Executive Board member, Gayle Rogers, at the Friends annual meeting on October 8, 2015. “We are thrilled to have Gayle join the Friends,” said incoming Friends of PFPL President Allison Knabb. “With her professional and volunteer experience, Gayle will help the Friends fulfill its mission of stewarding and supporting the library.”

A Warren County resident since 2001, Gayle attended Essex County College and other institutes for diverse educational courses and certification programs. In 2013 she retired from a 39 year career in the insurance industry that spanned from underwriting to I/T system analysis and development of business requirements to branch operations process analysis/requirements and training. Prior to retirement, Gayle served as a member of the Diversity Cultural and Inclusion Board which sponsored many nationally diverse events, as well as various Junior Achievement initiatives for a public grade school. Since 2014, she has served on the Board of Trustees for CASA SHaW of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren counties. Gayle has three adult sons, two of whom live out of state, and six grandchildren.

The 2016 Friends of PFPL Executive Board elected by the general membership are Allison Knabb, president; Sue Campnest, vice president; Nancy Makowski, treasurer; Sean Gornell, secretary; Susan Flad, director; Gayle Rogers, director; Dana Syers, director.

The Board recognized Ann Caroprese for her work in coordinating the Friendly Games program and also outgoing Board members Rosita Parker and Barbara Hull for their significant contributions to the organization. “Their dedication and commitment have been invaluable to promoting early literacy and facilitating personal learning,” said Ann De Renzis, Phillipsburg Library Director. “Rosita and Barbara will continue to work closely with the Friends to support programs and enhance the image and identity of Phillipsburg Library.”
