IMPORTANT – Advovate Prescence Is Requested

The Freeholders voted on August 10th to proceed with their plan to purchase the building at 404 Route 519 in Greenwich for a new county library branch. The Town of Phillipsburg is in negotiations with the county for them to continue funding the library beyond July 2018. Therefore, to assist with this inducement, all library advocates should continue attending Freeholder meetings to show their support for a sustainable Phillipsburg Library. The next Freeholder meeting will be on Wednesday, September 14th at 7:30 p.m.. Please contact the library at 908-454-3712 to sign up. Everyday Art 4 Caring Club Exhibition

The EA4CC has on display, in the library lobby, a collection of eclectic art works created through the coloring books for adults classes. The main focus of the classes is coloring, but other types of art medium are being explored and have been created. The display began August 1 and will remain until August 31. The collection changes each Wednesday. These art coloring classes are the brain child of instructor/trainor Rev. Judi Painter. With the popularity of coloring books for adults taking off, instructor Judi thought to hold classes at the library, where the community could gather to learn something new, meet each other, share ideas, decide what types of artwork is to be explore and simply just have fun. Update: Final Vote on County Funding of Phillipsburg Library

Dear Friends of PFPL,   Your presence, on behalf of our Phillipsburg Library,  is needed at the final vote on the Warren County plan to pull 100% of its funding as of July 1, 2018, and to demand the relinquishment of up to $350,000 worth of library books and other materials. This plan will cut the overall library budget by 50% and will eliminate service to residents of Lopatcong, Pohatcong and Greenwich Townships.   The Freeholders will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10 at the Warren County Technical School.     The public is encouraged to attend.  NOTE: Because of the community interest in this issue, the venue for the meeting has been moved to the school theater at the Warren County Technical School, 1500 Route 57, Washington, NJ 07882.    If you cannot attend the meeting but want to share … Read entire article »
